Global Care Builds Birthing Suites In Africa

Global Care Africa Co-coordinator David Ballard, has an incredible heart for people. In particular, pregnant women and their babies. At a recent fundraiser, David told story after story of the harrowing experiences that people in poverty experience when medical issues arise in their life. He also told stories of women dying needlessly during childbirth. According to the World Health Organization Website, 830 women EVERY DAY, die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and child birth. Through Global Care’s partnership with Christ to the Nations Organization, we have been able to build and staff birthing suites in Africa, dramatically reducing birth death rates in the surrounding areas.

During David’s last visit toward the end of 2016, a heavily pregnant woman was rushed into one of the Global Care birthing suites and less than half an hour later, David met the new little baby. See pics.

Primarily a volunteer organisation, Global Care has around 2000 active volunteers each week, helping around 10,000 people each day. The Organisation has full Gift Deductible Recipient (DGR) Status and is also a Public Benevolent Institution. Global Care is funded through donations from the public and a small corporate partnership base.
